Nonsurgical Therapy
Scaling & Root Planning | Antibiotic Therapy | Periodontal
Maintenance
Non - surgical periodontal treatments are available for patients with mild to moderately severe forms of periodontal disease. Most patients in the first two stages and some patients in the third stage can be treated without surgery.
Nonsurgical Therapy includes:
Scaling and Root Planning
Scaling, a type of teeth cleaning involves the removal
of plaque and tartar from the teeth and right below
the gum line. Root planning(Deep Cleaning), is careful
cleaning of disease affected tooth roots. It is done
to remove plaque, calculus, and the necrotic (dead)tissue
on the root surface which is required for creating
a healthy root surface. Since this procedure goes deeper
than the regular Scaling, a local anesthetic is used.
Root planning reduces inflammation, pocket depths,
and allows supportive tissues to reattach to the root
surfaces. For many patients a thorough, well performed
root planning coupled with improvements in oral hygiene
is all the therapy that is needed.
Localized Antibiotic/Antibacterial Therapy
Antibiotics in pill form or an antibiotic gel applied under the
gum tissue may be used to reduce the bacterial infections causing
periodontal disease. In some cases, an antibacterial mouth rinse
is prescribed to help control plaque.
Regular Professional Supportive Care(Periodontal Maintenance)
After active therapy has been completed and pockets have been eliminated and tissues are healthy it is necessary to prevent the recurrence of periodontal disease. Continuing effective home care as well as regular professional supportive care is essential to maintain periodontal health.
What is Periodontal Disease | Periodontal Treatment
Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections of the gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth. They are caused mainly by the accumulation
of bacteria called plaque. If not treated right away, the teeth themselves
can be affected.
Single Tooth Replacement | Multiple Tooth Replacement
Dental implants are a better solution to the problem of missing
teeth. An artificial tooth root is placed into the jaw to hold a
replacement tooth or bridge in place as to provide patient comfort,
function and esthetics.
Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation
This is sedative drugs that we directly inject into the vein providing a very effective and safe patient management technique.
Root Coverage | Microsurgery | Interdental Enhancement | Pre-Prosthetic
To help our patient feel and look great, cosmetic periodontal surgery
can be done to cover exposed root surfaces and prevent gum recession.
Bone Regeneration | Sinus Augmentation | Ridge Augmentation
We can predictably grow bone and the attachment to your teeth
back after it is lost to periodontal disease.

Growth factor Supplementation
The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a concentrated suspension of the growth factors found in platelets is involved in wound healing and as promoters of tissue regeneration.
