IV Sedation
Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation
Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation
This is sedative drugs that we directly inject into the vein providing a very effective and safe patient management technique. This technique relaxes the patient while remaining conscious throughout the procedure. IV sedative drugs benefits the patient in the degree of amnesia they produce; so even though the patient is conscious, he has little or no memory of the dental procedures carried out. Dr. Porras has received specialized advanced training and certification by the state of Texas. During the procedure of Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation, monitoring devices will be attached to the patient that will monitor the pulse, blood pressure and heart rate. Patients will need to have someone escort them after this procedure is performed.
Pain Management
We want you to be as comfortable as possible while in the office for treatment and will do everything we can to keep you comfortable. Depending upon the patient and procedure,
Dr. Porras will discuss with you options such as the use of nitrous oxide or intravenous conscious sedation.
What is Periodontal Disease | Periodontal Treatment
Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections of the gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth. They are caused mainly by the accumulation
of bacteria called plaque. If not treated right away, the teeth themselves
can be affected.
Single Tooth Replacement | Multiple Tooth Replacement
Dental implants are a better solution to the problem of missing
teeth. An artificial tooth root is placed into the jaw to hold a
replacement tooth or bridge in place as to provide patient comfort,
function and esthetics.
