What types of treatment are available?
That depends on your individual condition. If periodontal disease
is in its early stages, proper brushing and flossing, along with
scalling and root planning, may be all that's necessary. If the
disease is more advanced, you may require additional treatment.
Scaling and root planning is a technique that removes plaque and
tartar from below the gumline. Tooth root surfaces are cleaned
and smoothed with specially-designed instruments. Other techniques
may be used to treat periodontal diseases. For example, if gum
recession has occurred, grafts can be used to prevent further recession.
Or, if you have substantial bone loss around some of your teeth,
there are special proven procedures.
How do I protect my oral health?
Following initial treatment, periodontal maintenance procedures (PMP)
enable you to gain control of your oral health. Periodontal disease is unfortunately, a chronic disease. The key to control is early diagnosis with prompt treatment.
Our PMP is a specialized treatment to protect the gums
and bone that support your teeth.
Regular dental visits and cleanings following PMP will continue with your dentist. This will ensure optimum oral health and the
highest quality care possible for your mouth.
What is Periodontal Disease | Periodontal Treatment
Periodontal diseases are bacterial infections of the gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth. They are caused mainly by the accumulation
of bacteria called plaque. If not treated right away, the teeth themselves
can be affected.
Single Tooth Replacement | Multiple Tooth Replacement
Dental implants are a better solution to the problem of missing
teeth. An artificial tooth root is placed into the jaw to hold a
replacement tooth or bridge in place as to provide patient comfort,
function and esthetics.
Intravenous (IV) Conscious Sedation
This is sedative drugs that we directly inject into the vein providing a very effective and safe patient management technique.
Root Coverage | Microsurgery | Interdental Enhancement | Pre-Prosthetic
To help our patient feel and look great, cosmetic periodontal surgery
can be done to cover exposed root surfaces and prevent gum recession.
Bone Regeneration | Sinus Augmentation | Ridge Augmentation
We can predictably grow bone and the attachment to your teeth
back after it is lost to periodontal disease.
Scaling & Root Planning | Antibiotic Therapy | Periodontal
Maintenance
Non - surgical periodontal treatments are available for patients
with mild to moderately severe forms of periodontal disease. Most
patients in the first two stages and some patients in the third
stage can be treated without surgery.
Growth factor Supplementation
The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a concentrated suspension of the growth factors found in platelets is involved in wound healing and as promoters of tissue regeneration.
